well i like the bokers and TI , new and vintage, over Dovo's current offerings but many of the vintage Dovo's were exceptional.
Many of my favorite razors like Joed's are from unheard of brands and just by experimenting great ones are found... most of the "big names" are over hyped. a razor nobody has heard of could be the antique store find of a life.
enjoy,
jim

Thanked: 1936If you bought this razor from Straight Razor Designs, then yes, it's honed well. Where did you buy it from?
Secondly, welcome to the forum.
Third, find a "mentor" to show you the ropes, where are ya from? They don't have to have a "mentor" badge to show you the ropes. If you are anywhere near the SE part of Oklahoma or NE part of Texas, drop me a PM.

Thanked: 1936Then more than likely you are right on...it needs to be honed as I REALLY doubt it was. Send it to one of the pro honers in the classified's and you will get on the right track.
Edit: Didn't see Pinklather's offer...you would be silly to not take him up on it!Last edited by ScottGoodman; 05-03-2012 at 12:04 AM.

Thanked: 57Justin- You've got a great razor there. Dovo makes quality razors. Razor burn comes from too much pressure because the blade is dull. Send it out to Pinklather for a free hone. He does great work and the price is right; return postage only. You'll love it when you get it back. Have fun!

Thanked: 485Justin, while it's away getting honed, take the time to read the articles in the library, the research is well worth it...
Welcome!
