Default After buying 100+ Razors, a first!

I bought a minty Geisen & Forsthoff Adoration 292 today, after cleaning and hand polishing I tested the edge, it still popped arm hair easily so I did 15 laps on a CrOx paddle and 40/70 linen/leather, it passed my tests.

    The shave was a 9.5!!

A nice looking razor there; the box looks to be in great shape.
    Thanks for sharing.

I still can't believe I got a shave ready razor in an Antique shop!! I've had a few that were close and just needed a refresh on hones, but never this sharp

I bought a Boker a few years ago at a flea market that hadn't see active duty in decades and it still shaved arm hair like a champ. I was tempted to try a shave with it, but I chickened out and decided to start over again with a bevel reset lol.

Congrats on the G&F, looks like a fine addition to your collection.

I had a backup all stropped and ready just in case!! I knew it was good though as it was tree topping arm hair after stropping.

    Nice looking razor.

I got an old Taylor's "Eye Witness" 6/8 a while back, stropped it and shaved with it.

They're out there, but few and far between.

The older G@F's were quality razors, and make very nice shavers. Yours, being a vintage G@F with more of a near wedge or 1/4 grind will have a edge that is not as delicate as a full hollow and probally held up well after it;s last honing. Every once in awile you will find one like this, and it is a real pleasure when you do. Very Best, John

I have yet to find an antique shop razor in shave-ready condition (or near-shave ready).

    Congrats on your find!
