    Default Sheffield Razor I.D Help

Picked this up at the local antique shop, I have never heard of this brand. I feels pretty heavy and says M.GEORGE & SONS SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND on the tang. Appears to have bone scales. Thanks for the info in advance!

well for starters, until the experts awake, made after 1891, because of the "England" and are you sure it is bone ? cannot really tell with just the one picture.

wish i could be more helpful.

The scales look like ivory, but it is hard to tell from the picture. A close up would make it easier. Nice looking razor though.

Those look like bone scales. Nice razor, I love finding a new Sheffield bone to add to my collection.

    Hey,
Those are definitely Bone scales, you can see the fibers near to the pins. +1 to the razor being made after 1890 ish. I checked Goins' and the maker is listed but with no date. I will get back with a date if I find one.

    Carl.
