Thanked: 2Now that I have sniffed all of my razors, what type of acidic smell should I be smelling? Is it more like vinegar or hydrocloric? Thanks for all of the great info and pictures in this thread.

I just got my Top Flight in the mail and immediately tried some chemicals to get rid of the rust. CLR followed by a couple rounds of Maas didn't even take care of all of it. I will go to the Dremel wire wheel next.
This is going to be the worst (by amount of rust and edge damage) razor I've ever tried restoring.
