Default Prior to the current Filly hype what was the most sought after razor?

Hey gents i was just wondering what razors other people wish they had in their collection if they could choose just one each and tell me why and maybe a little history about the razor? If it is a Filarmonica feel free to post also.

Looking forward to some interesting replies!

    Thanks,
    Issi

The hype isn't really 'current', it's been going on for years. Basically ever since there was a steady supply for those the prices kept going up. I was looking for them before the steady supply and they were fairly rare, and in nice condition you still had to pay over $100.
Before the filies it was wonderedge, puma gold, dorko, also the 1" w&b in great condition were always sought after.

The heljes were not much talked about, which I rather liked, as I could bid mucho moneys (wonderedge level money) on any really nice one I liked and be practically guaranteed to get it. I don't like the wide blades though, so I just ignored the occasional 7/8+ that popped up (actually I got one no. 14 which is in the razor database but that was all).

Even though I think 8/8 would be excessive for my thin beard I would also want a MK 134.

Me too. A MK 134 in ivory would be my wet dream.

I've got one and , despite the nay sayers, it is one of the best razors I've ever had. When I first came around the ducks, Wonderedge, Reaper, and Goldedge were the hot commodities, in that order. Also the W&B 'Barber's Use' 8/8 was hot. If there is enough forum talk, positive talk, on any shaving paraphanalia, it seems to drive the demand, and therefore the price.

8/8 hollows aren't excessive IMHO... they appear to work great, just enough nimbleness and heft for me.. oddly (maybe) i find a 5/8s underwhelming, the sweet spot for me seems to be ~13/16

12/8s+, now that might be a different story... what would make an 8/8 excessive in your opinion?..

From my scanning of the US eBay it seems to me that the current three price champs are Puma, her sister Double Duck and TI. Those seem the 'most wanted'.
