Default Boker "Cracker Jack" straight razor

Newbie with a question about an old Boker a friend brought over. It has "Cracker Jack" etched on the blade surrounded by etching like that on a "King Cutter". On the tang, same side as the blade etching is stamped H. Boker & Co. in a slight arch over a tree stamp. There are NO other markings on the razor. The question is where was it made, Germany or the USA?

That is what I thought also but my friend insists the American Boker Co did manufacture straight razors in the USA. Was having a had time to find a link to a site that categorically said so. Thanks.

OK, that was what I was afraid of, that is everything becoming clear as mud. Would it be safe to say that any H Boker straights with the tree mark on it were made in Germany with or without having Germany/Solingen stamped on it also? Conversely, all H Boker straights with no tree mark were USA made whether or not they were so stamped?

really i have no idea what years h boker was making them in the USA... today was the first time i saw one... i have over 50 bokers they all list at least solingen, most are new enough to have the "germany" too

my question was for Croaker... does his blade have the tree?

and for a definitive answer or guess you could actually contact the company they have always been willing to share history they have, unfortunately they lost a lot of records during WW2

Sorry, it was a general comment and the question was also for Croaker. From the little I can gather, there was the original Boker in Germany and various other Boker companies in several other parts of the world all originally run by close relatives of the German owner. An interesting and convoluted history made even more difficult by the fact the records for the German Boker were almost entirely destroyed in WWII, which you mentioned. Good enough for me to know that the USA branch of the Boker family obviously did make straights in the US of A at some point in time. Knowing more about how they were marked would be a real bonus.
