Thanked: 011/16" H. Boker "Ohio Farmer" - Need some info.
Ok, so I don't know a whole lot about straight razors but I picked this up as a gift for my brother from an online auction who shaves with old style razors. First, I know Boker is a well known brand but I cannot find any info. on Ohio Farmer which is on the box it came with. Also, the handle has ornate designs on it unlike most other Boker's I've seen. The Tree symbol on it dates about 1920-1935 from my research. The blade is perfect. I have pics but I'm not sure how to upload them. Any info. on this would be helpful. Thanks - Christiaan

to upload pictures you must click on the small button along the top of your text box that looks like a tree (insert image). It is right next to a film reel (video upload) and a globe with a red x (unlink). Once you click the tree button you will be prompted to find pictures "From Computer" or "From URL". I am going to guess that you don't have these pictures hosted on a website like photobucket, so click "From Computer" tab and then click the button on the bottom of the window labeled "Select files". Find the pictures of your razor and click upload.

Thanked: 4942I suspect your box is from a different razor. There are some "Ohio Farmers" razors out there that were made in Germany. I have always suspected these were made for the folks who had a group of farmers in Westfield Center, Ohio which became the Ohio Farmers Insurance Company that eventually became Westfield Insurance just south of Cleveland.

Thanked: 0Ok, thanks for the info. on the box. It's still a cool thing to go with the razor. I also would like to know if ornate handles are common for boker razors. I kind of got into a bidding war with someone for this thing who either collects or buys/sells vintage razors which makes me think this is unique and worth more than I paid. Thanks
