Stones Green Lane - Derby razor ID needed
OK,
I bought this one razor but on the blade i can find only name STONES GREEN LANE - DERBY.
I will try to make better close up. I honed up and shaved with this new purchase and.... it blown away any razor I had used and shaved before. Mine DD Special #1 feels like wood chopper compare to this one... Any one has idea about this razor..?

Sorry I can't help with info on the brand. It's great that you found an off brand that you like a lot. Remember that the performance of a straight razor is directly related to the honing. It's possible that this razor likes the hones you used better than others or that the edge may not have been as worn as your other razors. Some time in the future you may want to put your other razors back on the hones and see if you can dial in the edge to give smoother shaves. Good luck with your new razor.

Got your point,
however two of my DD were almost NOS, not used at all and (fact I have not done DD honing as it was done far more experience person in honing) they are prepared very well. I did honing for STONES Green Lane but I must say, that even during honing I was amazed by quality of the blade. After 6k I thought to stop right there as to me razor was ready to shave. I have decide go up to 12k, very slowly as I was afraid to over hone. I think it pay off. Razor hold edge and is very sharp and smooth. I had always problems to shave jaw area... until this blade.
Now funny enough I have many not honed razors and last night I was working on one other blade. I can`t remember brand, but I know it is Germany made for sell in USA. Also very nice blade, very gentle. I`m just really happy that there is many not really know brands with good quality steel. I have even one no name razor http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...orn-razor.html which is really top line. I`m more and more into purchasing razor which I have never heard before and test them out...
Thank you!
