    Default TI - Thiers Grelot?

I got a Thiers Le Grelot hospital razor and I thought it's a TI but I am actually thinking now that the razor is by the brand Grelot from the town of Thiers. Is there any connection between TI and the town of Thiers?

As the town was supposedly a famous steelworks center from the past (such as, say, Solingen and Sheffield) I think it is probably still a decent razor. Has anyone tried Thiers Le Grelot?

Thiers is a major cutlery center in france. It's also heavily populated with people named Thiers. Thiers-Issard is just one of the companies there (my understanding is that Issard was the family name of Mrs Pierre). Google for Thiers Sabatier and see what pops out.

If I'm correct Mr. Thier's family was already
in the razor business. We he got married
he struck out on his own. For his new
company he added his wife's maden name
    Izzard.

Ivo, AFIK Terry has it 100% correct. The Thiers family was famous for their razors. Therefore even if it's not a Thiers-Issard, you still got yourself a great razor.
