Thread: Straight razor found in great grampa's stuff. Any ideas, age, value, etc?

    If you are serious about trying to use the razor, I will try to clean it up for you and hone it on me. I love when people get to shave with heirloom razors. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

    wow what a guy. not often complete strangers offer to do a thing like that. lynn is not a master , he is the master of the art of honing . i started my intrest i razors becuz of my great grandfathers razor. you will love everything about sr shaving and once you start and have a good time with it you will not wanna stop. have it honed and give it a whirl.

    Man ! A Genco Henry's X is a stiffer grind with some width to it. That will make a great shaver! The scales are not original to the blade, I feel. They remind of old Boker scales. See if you cannot get ol Lynn to check out those top collars. A repin might be in order! An heirloom piece like this might not ever happen for most of us. Tighten it up, preserve and use it!
