Thanked: 0TI Flat Back - completely flat back?
Sorry for the newbie question, but I've been looking at the TI razors on the classicshaving.com website, and the TI "Historical Sheffield Silver Steel, Large Flat Back, Bone 6/8" caught my eye:
http://www.classicshaving.com/catalo...51/3345242.htm
It doesn't say that it's one of the full-hollow ground razors like the other TI's. Looks like it's hollowed out a bit on the front, but does the "Large Flat Back" mean that it's back is completely flat? If so, wouldn't that make it hard to hone, since you would need to remove a lot more metal??
Thanks, and as a straight-shaving newbie I just want to thank everyone for contributing to this forum and making it such a great resource! It's really easy to learn things here just by searching through this forum and finding all kinds of posts on all different topics

Thanked: 9Just wanted to say welcome - sorry I can't answer myself. Probably has some hollowing but still a bit wedgy?
The razor looks very very nice. If you buy it, get the sharpening service too.
Cheers

Thanked: 346I think they just mean that the back of the spine is flat, not that the blade is flat. Shouldn't affect honing at all.
