I have two of these and you aren't going to find anything better than them for protection. They are built like a tank and use otter box cases.

That is one fine looking case. Do you know if it can hold the big Filarmonicas?

I hear you loud and clear. That photo was taken last Christmas, and I've outgrown the case already. I may order a second, but then I'd be enabling my own RAD.

I have an 8/8 Filly in my collection, and it fits just swell. (Also a big W+B that's even a bit chunkier.)

    Cheers!

Depends on what you want. If you primarily want display, go for one of the pen cases. If you primarily want protection, go for the Alembic. I got my Alembic a couple of weeks ago, and am currently winnowing down my collection to the seven keepers it will hold. It's a great design, but probably won't hold 7/8 or bigger blades. What it does hold is fantastically protected from bumps, jostles, and humidity. You can lock it, too, which is great if you're visiting where there are kids.

I have seen a knife roll made by United Cutlery that I think will do the trick. As as right now I am looking for something strictly for transporting my collection.
