    Default J.R. Torrey "The Artist"

Got a new to me razor from Howard at The Perfect Edge this afternoon, and with some light buffing, (to remove a few small spots of surface rust,) it cleaned up well.

After a hone and strop, it easily cut a bare swath for the shave test. I'm excited to try it out. Soon, I'll have another stable mate for it and the Engels, an A Fiest Luna. I suppose I'm pretty lucky to have nabbed these three razors for my first straight shavers.

    A dandy!

    (A little smiley, too.)

Congrats on finding a razor you like and your honing skills. I look forward to reading about your adventures w/ straight razors.

Me likey, too. I took it out for a test drive yesterday.

It's a heavier, (and somewhat more forgiving blade than the singing Engels,) but it's still narrow enough to maneuver easily while shaving. The smile gives you options while shaving, mainly when crossing the grain and getting under your nose.

I like this blade a lot, and have found other German made "The Artists" online that have a similar if not the same profile. I may be getting another.

Plus, it was made in Worcester, and I like that, too. They knew their blades, that's for sure.
