Default Purchased 2 razors over the weekend at a antique store.

The first one is a Crane Cutlery with what appears to be leather scales. It has a little bit of old corrosion right around the scale and one spot on the blade but other than that it is mirror shined. Below are photos.Name: 20120624_190035.jpg

The other is a Griffin Carbo Magnetic. Black scales are a little faded but the blade is in great shape.

Nice finds! They should both be fine shavers once honed up

I got one of those carbo's earlier this year, and fixed it up for a friend in Japan.
It's magnetic all right, plus the steel is very hard.
    Good job on the haul!

Yes it is. I thought the lady at the antique store was not going to sell it to me when she touched it with the other razor and started to pick it up. I had read about them and when I saw it i was like I think i will get it. It looks like it had a little rust removed at some point in time but I honed it up and it seems like it is going to be a good shaver.

I am a little scared to use the leather scaled razor because I don't know what I need to do to make sure the leather stays hard and in good condition. I have read some of the stuff on here about them but they seem to be fairly rare.
