Default Boker Tree Brand vs Vintage Carl Monkhouse

This is exactly what the title says.
I have the opportunity to get either Boker Tree Brand or a Vintage Carl Monkhouse for roughly the same price (the Boker is not full price btw).
Just wondering which would be better. The Tree Brand is only about a year old and has been professionally honed.
Feel free to go into detail on any other Boker, but please let me know about the Tree Brand.

    Cheers

I have Vintage bokers and love them. I have a vintage C-Mon and love it. If I had to pick I would go for the C-Mon if it were in good condition and it was the right size and grind for me. I like 5/8+ and full hollow, Ideally 6/8 is my sweet spot. I dont think you can go wrong on this one. Its all about what looks better to you as they are both great shaver's.

Since you say the Boker is a year old I assume it is not vintage. So you have to decide if the new ones are on par with the old. From what I have heard the new ones are good razors. Personally I'd take any vintage over a new manufacture (speaking factory made strictly) but that's just me.

However you also have to consider the over all package of size and grind and decoration and scales too.

I have to agree with the two members posts above but add a nice C-Mon properly honed is a superb shaving blade.

Choose the one you like most. If it were me I would take the one that is harder to find if I liked both of them. Which ever one you choose it can not be a bad decision unless there is something physically wrong with the razor. I have several of both makes but I do not have a recent production Boker, mine are vintage. Both brands give great shaves.

Is the C-Mon one of the new ones or vintage? I have both new and vintage Boker and love them both. I've heard bad about the new C-mon but older ones I also have and love. Look at the razors. take the cleanest one with the best blade.

I would say the boker... I havehad some c-mon's in the rotation and I thought they were kinda clunky... I have always viewed them as dubl duck wannabees, but fall short of the mark.. As long as the Boker is a newer full hollow they are hard to beat.

+1. You will always be able to find a new production Boker, but a vintage C-Mon is harder to come by and even harder to find at a decent price

    Thanks for the help guys.
The C-Mon is gone, sold to some other guy. But I wasn't sure on the condition of the razor so not too beat up about it.

The Boker is a one year old new model Tree Brand, I am still eying that one so I will probably go with it.

I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for ay nice C-Mons or Dubl Ducks like mentioned above.

    Cheers

It's a great razor. I have one it holds a great edge and shaves like a dream.
