    Exclamation Instant staining

Post shave alum applied, I looked into the magnified side of the mirror to find a few errant whiskers. Not being able to leave well enough alone, I picked up the Wester Bros. Extra Hollow and dispatched them cleanly.

Folding the razor and placing it on the counter I gave my face a rinse and dry before applying the ASB since this was a very close shave and my face was feeling brisk.

Something less than 3 minutes later I picked up the Wester Bros. Extra Hollow to give it a thorough wipe and dry to discover it was stained quite darkly 1/3 the way back from the edge.

Never happend before but I then I have never touched the razor to my alum blocked face ever before.

Simichrome made short work of it but my imaginations of the consequences had I put the razor in storage are disturbing.

Steel apparently doesn't appreciate alum in a good way.

Alum will stain a razor in a heartbeat.
