Well it came in today - it was a nice eBay surprise in that it indeed is a 4/8, and actually is in as good if not better shape than the seller stated.

It's all honed up and ready to go - I'll take some photos and report back after its first shave. Thanks for all the info gents.

As much as you like the little ones, are you aware that you can get a NOS Filarmonica 4/8 or 3/8 way cheaper than the big ones that are currently over-inflated? They're still the same razor, just smaller than most guys want, and they're supposed to be great. Just an FYI - I have no Fillies for sale, LOL.

Joed, you are absolutely correct, and I apologize to earcutter for my thoughtless post.

    It's all good!

I just wish I hadn't shaved so late yesterday so I could report how the blade shaves today! : ) I put in about an hour of work on the blade yesterday, tightening the pins and setting the bevel... I am just dying to see how it shaves my face - it does my forearm like a champ lol!!

I figure if it shaves I'll change up the scales and maybe sand it down a bit but it's a remarkably good looking razor as is. Unfortunately though - there was uneven hone ware. I don't know how to fix that. Or if one should even try.
