Default Anybody know any info on this Wade & Butcher razor?

SO I GOT THIS RAZOR ON EBAY IN A LOT WITH 2 OTHER RAZORS, A MORLEY & SONS CLOVER BRAND AND A WADSWORTH XLNT. I BOUGHT THE LOT SOLELY FOR THIS RAZOR BECAUSE I AM A HUGE WADE AND BUTCHER NUT. LOL BUT THIS RAZOR IS INTERESTING TO ME AND I CANT SEEM TO FIND THE SAME MODEL ONLINE ANYWHERE, BUT MAYBE IM LOOKING IN THE WRONG PLACE. THIS RAZOR IS STAMPED ON THE TANG "MANUFACTURED BY WADE & BUTCHER FOR W.N. SEYMOUR & CO NY". AND I THOUGHT IT WAS A FRAME BACK BUT I DONT THINK THATS WHAT YOU WOULD CALL THIS ONE, BUT I DONT THINK ITS A REPLACABLE BLADE EITHER ALTHOUGH IT LOOKS LIKE ONE, IF IT IS THE BLADES STUCK FOR GOOD. IF ANYBODY THAT LOVER REASEARCHING THINGS OR THAT KNOWS ALOT ABOUT WADES CAN HELP ME I WOULD MUCH APPRECIATE IT.

WHAT I COULD FIND IN MY RESEARCH IS THAT W.N. SEYMOUR & CO. WAS A HARDWARE CO IN CHATHAM SQUARE NEW YORK THAT WAS BUILT IN 1812
I COULD NOT FIND INFO ON WHAT TIME SEYMOUR & CO CLOSED

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THIS RAZOR IS CALLED IF ANYTHING OR ANY OTHER INFO IF ANYONE KNOWS ANY

I CLEANED IT UP THE BEST I COULD WITH WHAT I HAVE TO WORK WITH

I BELIEVE THE SCALES ARE HORN BUT NOT SURE???

That's a nice looking razor. Sorry I can't help you with any information on it, but can you go easy on the "Caps Lock" button?

And maybe a tad less on the buffer.

W&B actually did some mfg in Jersey City, NJ. Could have been made in Britain but it should have been marked England on the tang if it had been. I'm wondering if it wasn't made at the Jersey City facility ?

I would say it is a brass-framed frameback made for a New York retailer. Kindof rare to see a brass framed W&B and esp with a dealers name stamped on the tang. I understand about the shiny Brass! Too easy. The caps are hard to read, tho! Should be a fine shaver!

Did not know that! It seems a distinct possibility!

W&B was purchased by a USA outfit towards the end. They had factories in a number of countries. Dunham Duraflex or something like that. Those hair shapers that clueless sellers put on ebay as straight razors with "ivory" handles . I can't stand to look at them.

Looks like the scales got a little "Buffer Bite" or "Dremel Gone Wild".

Here is another W&B with similar stamping. No country of origin and a "made for" stamp.

Disregard the extra pin. It's an after market add on. LOL
