If a Marine is given a BCD he or she is stripped of the title Marine. BCD also know as Big Chicken Dinner a.k.a Bad Conduct Discharge if you were given a BCD it is due to Conduct unbecoming of a Marine so the title is stripped from them.

The Commandant changed that a few years back and got rid of the Former part. It is just Marine now.

Unfortunately I was not in the service because my dad did not want that after he being an Air Force fighter pilot in WWII saw a lot of bad things. He was in the European theatre & got two Purple Hearts from being injured. I wish I had joined against his wishes & I regret it these day. Any service member of the United States has my deepest respects. Well it's way too late now plus I have medical issues that keep me from holding down a normal job. I wish I had joined! I barely missed the draft & I am now 58. My heart goes out to all of you & to fallen troops of all times. Thank you very much for your service to our country!!!!

I did a lot of work with the 1st FRC c. 1969-1970 near the Laotian Border back in the day. Helped train a lot of them as well at the RECONDO School at Ninh Hoa, VN. Nothing but respect for my Marine Bothers....Semper Fi!
