    Default Red Point Razor Value

I was wondering if someone could tell me if Red Point razors that were made in Germany are more/less valuable/collectible that ones that were made in the U.S. (Utica). Thank you.

If I've understood you correctly, you want to compare Red Point razor made by Utica Knife Razor Co. and Red Point razor by Anton Wingen Jr., Solingen. But it's nothing to add. Both companies made very good shavers. Both are well-known and authoritative.

No, I am under the impression that some razors are stamped made in usa on tang and some are stamped made in germany and am wondering if one is more valuable than the other.

That depends on the buyer, value is always a matter of what someone would be willing to pay for it.

Sorry. I guess then my qusestion would be if one is more collectible than the other. I'm also curious as to whether different steel was used for the blades being that one was made here and one made in Germany. I know the quality of the steel coming out of Germany is top notch but, I am unfamilar with the steel used in razors here at that time.

manah could give a definitive answer but I'm under the impression that more than a couple of makers used the 'red point' logo ? Maybe I've just seen rescaled razors though ?

A friend of mine has a Red Point that says Otto Fromm on it. I don't remember if it said anything else or not but I do remember it had the original box and looked like it had never been honed. Any input on the Otto Fromm Red Point would be helpful.
