Default Do Pivot Pins Stay Tighter On Wood Scales?

I'm constantly frustrated because the pivot pins on my Dovo and Boker straights with plastic scales get loose. However, I've noticed that on my Dovo and Boker straights with wood scales the pivot pins stay tight. Is there something about wood scales that keeps the pivot pins tighter? I'm thinking that with wood the pin can "grab" the scale material better.

    Honestly ... No

The softer the scale's material the more likely the pins will "loosen" actually it is the the material is compacting... Once they settle in they should be about the same either way...
There are other factors that may be accounting for tightness in some scales and some of them might not be desirable, ie: corrosion build up inbetween the tang and bearing washers
