Thread: packestarny razor

so my brother brought me back a razor from packestarn,i would like to say its s--t but i think its worse....
Q has enybody honed one of these cos i.ve tryed all day,tape no tape,40 cercles,80 cercles,chizle stroke ect...
and still nothing soon as a beval starts it.s gone....i dont want my brother to feel bad. eny help if help exists please.....
i dont want to put it in my box with all my razors without giving it my best shot, after all its steel ???

You're experience is the norm.

Use it for display.

Razors from Pakistan are on SRP's "Razors to avoid" list for just the reasons you are experiencing. As TBS stated, just use it for display or a letter/box opener.

Drop it and chip the crap out of it... Apologize profusely, and buy a normal one in it's place and refer to it as your brother'ss present from here on.... Keep it it on the down low...

After you start feeling like the bevel is starting; switch over to a pasted strop and just use that, then linen and then leather. The metal edge of the razor may be flaking off as you continue to use your stones. Idea.

some pakis are "hard to die" to get it sharp but you can get a regular shave at the end.
