    Default Blade shapes/Types ?

    Hi,

there may be a thread already that i just dont find... but is there a thread that groups together all the "out of the box" shapes of the blades?

I passed on a Cut Throat the other day because I thought someone had messed it up on a hone and killed the intended shape... but it turns out they were actually made that way...

as i go through the threads here i learn more and more, but a thread grouping all the blade shapes would be a great reference :-)

    All the best
    Chris

From a functionality standpoint a square/spike point will be useful for shaping and precision cutting, a round point is useful for safety (harder to dig into your skin), and I suppose a barber's notch is easier to open. Other than that it's all about aesthetics.
