Yeah, the scales on this one are red-dyed bone. Too thick. Looks like someone's first attempt! The blade looks very nice, tho. I was telling someone the other day how I had never had a Dovo. It turns out I do!

Thanked: 884TYPICAL Case. LOL
Been my experience with Case knives that they are mostly interested in selling to the "collector" rather than the user. They produce 47 different colored varieties of the same knife so the avid Case collector will BUY THEM ALL to have the COMPLETE SET. The fact that the blades may rub and the snap is lukewarm and the scales don't fit right doesn't matter to those guys as most of the knives will be taken out the box rarely if ever after they're bought.
I quit buying and using Case knives when they started stamping dots on the blades in the 70's. I've got a few Case pocket knives. They're all pre-1970 and what I remember as CASE.
Nowadays, I could care less and rarely even look at pics of one on ebay.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.
