Default Can you help me identify this razor?

I posted what follows to the new finds forum, but haven't seen a response so I thought I'd post here as it is higher traffic... I just picked up a new razor at an antique shop and need help identifying the manufacturer. It has "Made in Germany" on the back. On the front it has a 44 on the tang and this is the logo where the maker usually is.

Most likely, your razor was made by Gustav Melcher Sohn.
The company was founded by Gustav Melcher, Ohligs-Solingen in 1883.

    Your stamp:

But there was another company with the similar stamp.
    C. Friedrich Kratz & Co, GMBH Rasiermesserfabric und Hohlschlieferei, Solingen-Wald was founded in 1890.

But even so, your razor stamp is closer to Gustav Melcher Sohn. IMO.

Awesome, thank you so much. Where/how did you find this? Is there a listing somewhere? I had a challenging time finding it on my own.

One day, if we're all really lucky, the likes of Manah and Neil Miller will put the sum of their knowledge on line. For the moment, there are SRP and other places.
