Thanked: 4!!Help!! New To Straight razor shaving!
Hey everybody,
Im new to the SRP community and i just want to say hey to everyone, and i was wondering what is a good straight razor i can get for around 200$.
I was looking at this one Pre-Sharpened DOVO Straight Razor, Faux Mother of Pearl Scales, 5/8" | Fendrihan Shaving Store. I also Need to find a nice strop that will last me for years and im not sure to get a paddle or just the strips of material. Im in Canada and i need to find one that keeps its edge and that i would not need to strop that often. Please help and does anyone know of a nice sandalwood soap that does not have a to strong of smell. Thank you in advance

I don't see any reason to suspect any of the senior members. If they were apt to scam someone they'd have been banned from the board already!
SRD does ship to ca, & they usually package & ship it the day after you place the order. It's very fast. Any razor from them will be professionally honed & truly shave ready.

Oh be sure to check out their specials. You can get a pretty good deal on a dovo (or other razor) along with a quality strop & possibly some other accessories.

Hey Josip:
Welcome to SRP.
I've heard good things about Classic Edge not far from you. (The Classic Edge Shaving Store Your Straight Razor Specialists.)
Also Nate (Maxi) here is just in Toronto. (https://www.sites.google.com/site/ra...g/contact-us-1)
Probably be a meet up sometime in the near future (fall)
Keep watchin
Regards,
Mike

Thanked: 275I'm pretty sure that when Fendrihan says "pre-sharpened", they mean:
. . . "We took it out of the box and honed it (or sent it out to be honed)."
That's why there's a disclaimer at the bottom of the Fendrihan catalog listing -- that even though Dovo may not honor the "new razor" warranty, Fendrihan _will_ honor it.
You can settle the question with a phone call.
SRD shipped my Dovo to Richmond BC, no questions asked. And (if I remember right), it arrived without any Canadian customs duty. But a $200 razor might get PST & GST added as it crosses the border.
