Yea i know what ya mean.
I find it annoying when i am
shopping for axes and ebay.
people don't take a photo.
to show if it's a tree cutting axe.
or a wood spitting axe.
hard to say what i would pay to have it.

Thanked: 3164Hi Bluerain - it is a bit, isn't it?! Here is an example of a "proper" english earspoon (that came with an early 1800s razor, BTW):
You can just make out the initials "D.F" on one of the tails. It is in the closed position at the moment, but swivelling a tail moves the spoon into view:
But it isn't just an earspoon - oh no - it has a nail file built into it as well:
That's got to be it - isn't it? I'm afraid not - it has two thin leaves of tortoiseshell, but I am not sure what they are for. Maybe for cleaning the dirt from under your nails, maybe for digging between your teeth, maybe both.
Now that's gross!
Regards,
Neil

Thanked: 443Ooh, ooh, DANGER! It was after I bought my first magnetic blade that my collection started to careen out of control. Coincidence or manifestation of simple physics? You decide...
By the way, a repinning may correct the way the razor closes. Or, in the extreme, you can fill in the current pivot holes and drill a new, better-aligned set.
Neil--Gross would be using the earspoon to pick between your teeth.Last edited by roughkype; 08-16-2012 at 06:19 PM.
