Thanked: 0Trying to not veer off the subject to much but a little insight.
Its a Battalion thing. I had just got a new DOVO out here and i had it on display with all the other things that go along with shaving.
Im not Combat but if you get down to the nitty gritty we are all soldiers and if we must we will kill.
BUT the army is not what most people think it is. Its more of a Politically Correct and don't hurt peoples feelings.
I'm on my way out of the army (honorably in less than a year) so I don't want to raise any flags and just get out. To anyone that has ever deployed you know how rumors can start if one person trys to talk back that person is now labeled to be a POS. AVOIDING CONFRONTATION at all cost.
SO back on to the subject. I will look more into these options you all have given me. Hopefully someone can chime in some more suggestions.

Thanked: 18I second the idea of a fixed blade razor, which is much more knife looking than a folder. Go for a kamisori, or you could buy or commission something from the one of the several highly capable custom makers present on SRP. Below are some knife looking razors I made myself this year:

Unless your razor was confiscated then you are not at a loss, use it when you get back to the world. You can PM me if you want but I am curious to know where you are deployed. I have been a professional soldier my whole adult life and I still have no idea why the Army reinvents itself and the wheel every couple of years... What does your CO have to say about the matter? I know this was mentioned previously but it is funny that we can have all kinda of weapons, ordinance, bayonets, knives, and whatever else, but there is a prohibition of a age old personal hygiene, grooming devise. What is the reason Straight Razors are outlawed? Go get yourself a shaving profile!!! J/K

Are there rules of engagement when attacking your own face? Too bad you can't be trusted with sharp things, soldier.
