    Default Wood treatment Hart scales

I've got a new Hart razor with ebony wood scales. The scales are starting to look dull and splotched from water marks. Anyone know what wood treatment to put on the ebony scales to shine them up and give them some water proofing?

J, I've also used tung oil when light and dark sections showed. 'Takes a day or so to dry. When I use it in finishing scales, I cut 50/50 w/ wood-based turpentine and rub in with some 0000 steel wool. The turpentine allows the tung oil to soak in. After one or two such treatments, you can overdo it and do a final coat (1+ day to dry) of straight tung oil. The tung tends to darken wood, which doesn't hurt ebony at all. I will be doing this w/ an old Dahlgren wedge soon.
