Dubl Duck Dwarf - Anyone use one?
I've seen a nice Dubl Duck dwarf for sale, and was wondering if anyone here uses one.
Is it called a 'dwarf' because the blade is shorter than standard? It looks to be about a 5/8?
Thanks.

Yes. A DD Dwarf is one of my favorites. It's 9/16 and shorter than average. Two other favs are abt the same length and a bit narrower. My only other straight is a Henckels 5/8 RP (all are RPs) & it's a bit longer. I prefer the smaller sizes for going around facial hair, which I normally have. Just had a handlebar & muttonchops & currently re-growing the chin so I'll again look like my avatar once more.

I have a DD Dwarf that belonged to my great grandfather. The blade is a 5/8 width, just shorter from heel to tip. It's a great shaver, and if you've seen one in good shape it would probably be worth picking up.

Ah, the other two! A Heljestrand #30 M & K, and an Electric Cutlery from Newark NJ that I won on the Yahoo straight razor forum recently. The Dbl Duck and the M & K are my very favorites.

I have a DD Dwarf in my rotation that I love. Definately a fine shaver, just as good as anything else made by DD.

Just yesterday I purchased a third Dwarf. The scales will probably need to be replaced and I may hone it up for a test shave and then put it away for future restoration. They're all square points and about 9/16- 5/8".They're also hollow ground but as they're about 1/4" shorter than other razors they seem to have a more rigid feel to them not unlike a wedge. I'm probably going to try and find four more Dwarves so I will have a seven day set(The Seven Dwarves ). Instead of engraving the days of the week on the spines I'll engrave the names Doc, Sleepy Happy, Dopey, etc. Then maybe add an eighth razor with white scales which will be engraved with the name "Snow White". Then I'll have Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
