Yeah, I actually thought of the horn thing too, pity it's wrong! I should have realised...
I know a lot of guys are on "the other place" and it seems like a nice place, but I spend way too much time posting here, let alone another place!
Thanks for the feedback. Of course it's not a serious restore, one day maybe I'll find out how far one can go with just wet and dry sandpaper and time. My trouble is I want every project finished NOW.
No, I didn't notice any negative effect. The scales were looking white, probably legacy from their shocking journey. I just thought shoe polish + leather = no brainer. Of course I did use Kiwi shoe polish, the best shoe polish in the world :-)
