    Default Got a few today...

Been shaving with a shavette and a DE for a bit now and figured I would go ahead and get a real straight. I deffinalty know Im going to have to send these off to get cleaned and honed by a pro. Just thought i would show off and feel free to add any info on these as I am still new to this. Second thought... please add info and what you feel would be the better ones to get honed.

From what I can see, looks like you got one that'll make a razor without too much work. That would be the TRIANGEL/BEN-GAL. Shine the blade up Mothers or similar and get her honed up.

The Herder looks pretty iffy with that big chunk missing. The other two have some edge issues that can probably be rectified without losing too much of the blade.

    Have fun.

Nothing like turning a 6/8 into a 4/8! I found what could have been a beautiful Sheffield with a barber notch, a very nice smile & beautiful scales a couple weeks ago in an antique market, but it was chipped about halfway up the blade, as if it had been dropped immediately after being struck by a rather large hammer and immediately before 1st armored division had their parade down that particular piece of ground.

I think I saw of its kin the other day at one of the antique malls here in Ft Worth. Cracks me up how folks look at you and tell you "IT MUST HAVE BEEN MADE THAT WAY"

I smile and say, "Ya reckon?" and then walk off.

I was well aware of the HUgE chip, and figured it could be one I practice honing or use it as a shop razor. I gave very little for it.

Had a lady ask my brother in law and I , "what are you going to do with a straight razor?"
    I said "shave."
    She said "shave what?"
My bro in law "my face."
    Lady "shave your face?
I "do you know of anything else I can do with it?"
She then shrugged her shoulders and walked away.

Seems to be an alien concept to some.

I have a triangle.. Hard to get honed up but it finnaly shaed.. I would put it in the lower end bracket of shavers. The gold gilt on it was like car paint..
