Thanked: 0my first razor
Hello every one,
I am new to straight razor shaving, a friend of mine showed me his straight razor and I have being hooked ever since.
I had a look on line I am wanting to buy my first razor some thing not all that expensive. I narrowed it down to three razors I have seen on line
Thiers Issard Vintage Silver Spartacus razor
VINTAGE STRAIGHT RAZOR WADE & BUTCHER ETCHED BLADE AND SCULPTURED PEARL HANDLES
VINTAGE STRAIGHT RAZOR PEARL DUCK DUBL DUCK "GOLDEDGE" GOLDTONE INLAY & BOLSTERS
can you please tell me how good each of these razors are so I can make up my mind.
thanks
David

Thanked: 109Hello David,
Welcome to SRP. We are glad you found us. You are beginning a journey which will take some commitment
to develop new skills but you will be richly rewarded as the once upon a time drudgery of shaving becomes
something you look forward to each day.
You are getting a little ahead of yourself as we all have in the excitement of a new adventure.
The two links below will help you to make informed choices. There is a great deal of material here in the beginners
forum if you read the stickies which are posted at the top in red.
The short answer to your question is they are all fine razors depending.
There is great deal of personal preference choosing
equipment. Many of us began by purchasing a simple vintage razor which had been honed to shave ready condition. If you look in the classified
here there are great values from other members who have very high standards for razors. You will likely fair better than the gamble of an unknown
seller on an auction site.
