Dovo "Rasettte"
OK, here's a couple of pic's of my razor. I wanted to know if DE blade cut in half or if there is blades to use.
Thanks for the help.

You can always try that and do an arm-hair test. If it shaves without any wobble to the blade you can actually try shaving with it but the experience won't come anywhere near going straight.

I can't tell for sure from the picture. I believe the stock Dovo shavette uses half a DE blade. However, there are other holders you can buy which will accomodate other types & lengths of blades.
Look for blades & holders on this page:

Is the "blade holder" the same length as a DE blade? It appears to be longer than a DE, which would tell me that special blades are in order.

Thanked: 346It's hard to tell from the photos, but it doesn't look like a dovo shavette, though it may have the same mechanism with different scales. If so, then the answer to your question depends on which adapter you've got.
The shavette has a set of plastic adapters that wrap around the blade and slide into the shavette's "blade" from the end. There are holders for three blade types that I know of: standard DE, long DE, and Fromm. Classic Shaving sells all three (they're about a buck apiece), and sells the long DE blades as well.

the shavettes that i have seen take half of a normal blade that you get from any local shop, i could not tell you size of it at the moment as i am at work. Is a rasette the better type that i have seen some hairdresser use? or is that still a shavette just a more expensive one?
