I've got a carbomagnetic in very simple scales, German steel, and it's a fantastic blade. Conventional 5/8 w/stabilizers and a jimped tang. A real pleasure to hone and shave with. I would LOVE to have the same steel in 6/8 with a thumb notch. Very lucky find for you. I hope gentle honing is all it will need.
