Please take this coming from someone who has not done a lot of restoration work.... See if it still sits flat on the hones. If it will hone up without any problems, you may not have to modify it at all. Of course you may WANT to !!!! Good luck and keep us posted.
Yeah...No, it does not sit flat...even after I modified it. It is closer to flat now, but not there yet. I set a bevel and had to try some interesting techniques to do so. I got tired and pushed away for a while.

I have 90% of the blade to the point where it will pop hairs a few mm from my arm off the 1000 grit, but I need to figure out the BEST course of action for this warp at the toe.

In the mean time, I added some jimping and did a pseudo-polish on the blade.

    Not perfect...but also not done

If NOTHING else, I will learn a few new things with this one.

    Default DOH!!!

    Final update for those interested.

I finished honing it and while it posed some interesting challenges for me I think the result is outstanding. I am very pleased with it now. I tried a shave straight off the hones (no stropping) and the shave was fantastically close. I feel like I learned a lot today and the spike I put on the toe gave me a little love nibble (just a weeper)....it's truly mine now

Looks really good! What did you use to space out the jimps? I've cut some before using some of my work equipment and just eyeballed it. They came out ok, but not perfect. Those look really well spaced out. Nice work from where I'm sitting.

Thanks. I just eyeball it. I have worked knives in the past, so some of these concepts are not totally new to me.
