Default Boker? looking to see if this is a good razor.

I really like the look of this razor and am thinking of buying it and would like to know if anyone has some information on what year and what kind of condition you think it is in. I'm sorry the pics aren't that descriptive I've already asked the seller for more so hopefully i will have some extra info to send your way! the scales are what make the razor for me

Looks like a good razor, Bokers are good. Problem is that there is alot more that needs to be seen up close. Edge damage is very hard to see in regular pics.

    + 1 What Jimmy said.

It seems to have little use, so you're going to be happy once it gets shave ready.

    Congrats

Yeah i emailed the guy asking for some close up pictures of the blade and if i could see a recognizable makers mark so we will see if he gets back to me. in the first pic you can barely make out Boker on the straight so i believe it is one. thanks for the feedback guys! do you have any idea what the scales are made of though? look like horn or ivory but I'm not sure

Most likely the scales are Celluloid. Really nice looking razor

    Welcome to the Boker Brotherhood!

Get that baby professionally honed and you will experience Bokers 'buttery smooth' shave. Enjoy!

That is a cool looking razor IMO. If it speaks to you and the price fits your perception of value, buy it. Just enter into this knowing at least 2 things:

    1. Some amount of work will need to be done before it is shave ready...and the cost of that is unknown, but fairly easy to estimate once you figure out who will be doing the work.

    2. It has a square point which can be a bit of a challenge for new shavers. It looks a LOT like the blade shape of my first straight though.
