Thanked: 0Razor ID help?
I found a couple of straights at a flea market this weekend and would like a little help with figuring out their ages and the likelihood of getting good shaves from them.
One is marked "Brummel-Werk" and "New York" on the off-side, "Beau Brummel" and "Wedge" on the front and has zebra scales. There's a single logo that's similar to the paired profiles on the Bresduck page in the Wiki.
The other is a Henckels 401, new in the box, or nearly so, with instructions in several languages (makes me think it's newer rather than older). Except for a couple of small tarnished areas, it looks untouched.
I spent some time last night cleaning up the Brummel, but have been hesitating to even touch the Henckels, not knowing exactly what I've got. I did test shave the Henckels, and it did a nice job as a second pass, but wouldn't take off much as a first pass, if that makes sense. Dragging the pad of my thumb across the edge produces this wonderful ringing sound, not unlike making a wine glass sing.
Any help y'all can provide with (likely) manufacturing dates and other info much appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Thanked: 0As a total noob, I'm confused by these last couple of postings. The links go to blank pages and the first post referred to information I had already mentioned myself. Is it being suggested that I add my razors to the database?
I do see that there are two pages for Bresduck, one is "Bresduck Inc" and the other is "Bresduck Inc." This second one (with the period) has the information I already found.
Not trying to be a jerk about this, just don't understand what's expected.
