Not sure where to measure blade length but from the back of the stabilizer to the tip toe is 3 1/16 " .

I was a little surprised when I opened it. Condition and size.

i been thinking bout the one with the duckhunter on it ..lol...
my Bresduck DWARF says Germany and my Pearlduck #1 says Germany also ... neither say anything bout the good ol U.S.OF A.

This thread got me curious so I checked each of my two No.1 Special blades. One is marked Bresduck Double Duck Solingen Germany and the other is marked Pearlduck Double Duck REG.U.S.PAT.OFF. . Nowhere on the Pearlduck blade is the country of origin stamped. Interesting but both shave equally well.

I have a few of these and I have found them difficult to use. So long it's like they drag across your face to much. My hand is so far away from my face that making circle is tough. Painting is easy with them but then I miss the scrubbing part of it. I haven't given up on them just finding it hard to make one a regular.

Is it likely that the scales were of US manufacture, and the blades were all from one place? It would seem odd for a company to have disparate forges for one model, although I guess back in "those days" the $1 price difference could help offset such an arrangement?

I recently came upon a REG US PAT OFF Dubl and I've been pursuing as much knowledge as possible re: its origins. But unfortunately, this whole Made in America thing has thrown everyone for a loop :/.

My main worry, and it seems to be unfounded (for the moment), is that the quality of the blade and its shave are less than the German counterpart of that particular model. However, on the other hand, considering how infrequently the "REG US PAT OFF" models are mentioned, I can't help but wonder how many of such models exist?

Only the Ducks know for sure! Nice Thread, Martin! I have seen hair dryers and brushes/combs and all sorts of things Dubl Duck. Certainly the name stood for quality. Everyone loves their ducks!

I don't think you need to worry about any quality difference. I have a couple of American made razors and they shave as well as the DDs.
