Thread: Dovo scales?

I picked this up yesterday as part of a lot. It's got some funky hone-wear but it actually honed up easily, a pretty nice piece all-in-all.

What I am curious about is the scales, I don't recognize the material. The guy I bought it from said 'bone' -- I didn't know enough to agree or disagree and it really didn't matter. Does anyone recognize it right off? Does it look like these scales came from Dovo?

When I first saw that razor in the post you made yesterday, I thought to myself, "Hey, that's the DOVO in bone scales that I saw a month ago on classicshaving and wanted." I just went to classicshaving.com; the razor is unavailable, but you can check out the pics:

After getting a look at the new pics, and seeing the splotch marks on the scale, I don't think that it's bone.

The shape and cut of my razor look a lot like that Dovo bone. Color me confused. Slightly green confused.
