But you're right. Only the Congress has the power to declare war.
If we haven't beat 'em by now, it's time to write 'em a check.

If you think that's bad, the 3rd Punic War lasted more than 2000 years. At the end of the war Carthage had been so utterly destroyed that either there was no one left to agree to a peace, or the Romans, having annexed the territory, felt no need to arrange a peace with a part of the world that was now subject to the Pax Romana. So the war wasn't formally ended until 1985 when Italy and Tunisia signed a treaty.

This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Do you happen to know the source publication for that article? I'm honestly curious.

Just ask 'em, they'll tell ya.
We quit calling them wars when we quit trying to win them.

    Default Luxury Tax on Razors

These kinda things exist all over the place, like this one "If any person has a puppet show, wire dancing or tumbling act in the state of Indiana and receives money for it, they will be fined $3 under the Act to Prevent Certain Immoral Practices."

It's stuff like this that makes legal history so much fun to study. You just know that simply because of the existence of this law, at some point in Indiana, puppet shows, wire dancing and tumbling were seen as a menace. If you want to know what life in medieval London was *really* like, study the court records. They range from depressing to outrageous (outrageous to modern eyes at least) to absofrickinlutely hilarious.
