Default Friodur 7/8 Real or Fake ?

    Hello everyone,

    I'm Luca from Genoa (Italy),

I found a Portuguese seller on e-bay that sell this Friodur 7/8.

eBay Italia - Aste online e shopping a prezzo fisso

I love Friodur and I participated in that auction. but the razor was won by another buyer.

It seem to be real, but my experience is ...

This morning I received a message on e-bay by the razor seller, which proposed me to buy another Friodur 7/8 Razor (still from e-bay).
    This one:

The price asked by him is: 158 USD
Maybe a chinese fake or a real Friodur ?

    Any help will be appreciate.

    Ciao.

    Luca

Hi Luca, It looks real to me. I have one just like these, bar the scales. This type of blade can be found with whatever scales plonked on.

Looks real to me, the pic is a little blurry but it looks to be one of the newer grinds that have been readily avaliable lately.

Those were very abundant maybe up to a year ago. Some people got a bunch of stock of those so many people have them.
    They shave great.

I've recently purchased a very similar razor. In fact I almost bought this one but didn't feel that the price was accurate. With that being said, as the story goes, these were old blanks that were 'left behind' when Henckels stopped manufacturing/production. These blanks have ended up in a number of peoples hands and they've done what they've pleased with them. Some of them have worked spines and some don't. A select few of the blades still have the manufacturers stamping on them and some don't. Mine doesn't but when you put it side by side with one, it's identical and shaves fantastically. There aren't too many of them left at a reasonable price, so whoever did get it for the price ebay said it sold for got a great razor.

+1 lots of blanks were made. I've recently bumped into one marked just Solingen inox or smth like that. Lots of blanks of other type Solingen razors were made too, I believe that some of the manufacturers today still tend to use them, stamping their logos on them (Wacker for some of his str8s I think).
    The price looks OK IMhO
