Thanked: 0E J Jahn Co
Hi All,
I am looking to pick up my first straight razor. Due to the costs I am planning on picking up a used one to try out and upgrade later once i know a bit more of what I am doing.
I came across the following item from on Ebay. I live in Detroit and am nostalgic about Detroit memorabilia. I have done some searching and can't find anything about this company though. Does anyone know anything about this? Thoughts on picking it up vs. a more known brand?
E J JAHN CO DETROIT MICHIGAN BLUE STEEL STRAIGHT RAZOR w/BAKELITE HANDLE & BOX | eBay
Thanks for all your help!

There's nothing in the SRP Wiki on the company. It's likely that another manufacturer made the razors for Jahn.
Nice looking art deco-style scales. Downsides are many: quality of the steel unknown, razor is probably not shave-ready & the min price is up there for a no-name razor. I'd strongly encourage you to look at straights in our classifieds and set aside nostalgia until you have a lot of experience using different straight razors.
