Silver steel
I recently purchased a razor which advertised itself as being made out of "silver steel"...being relatively new to SR's it has me wondering if one form of popular SR steel is really better than another?

Thanked: 2591Silver steel takes a nice edge and hones easy. I believe it is pretty common for Solingen made blades.

I have an Othello that raeds best silver steel on the blade and it works great....

'Silver Steel' now refers to high carbon steel :

Many moons ago (ca. 1820s), Michael Faraday formulated a steel alloy that did contain a small amount of silver. However, today, 'silver steel' contains no silver.
