Thanked: 0Robuso 18 - good deal or not?
Hi everyone, this is my first post after long lurking
So I already had a Russian Ракета 1963 and the well known Wapi. Both work great. And then I saw a guy on local sales board selling an old "Robuso 18". The picture was awful, but the price was right - roughly 30$. So I arranged a meeting today and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the thing. "It was my uncle's, he was a barber", he said.
Please take a look at the photos and help me determine the value of this razor. I'm pretty sure I didn't overpay as it's in very good shape, almost shave ready with only some minor rust spots here and there. The scales could be better though.

Thanked: 56Hey there,
It's in the forum rules that razor valuations aren't allowed here. That's probably because one man's rubbish is another man's gold. Having said that, nice razor What does it say on the tang?
Thanks

Thanked: 2591You are the only one that can determine if it is a good deal.
The correct question, IMHO, would have been: Is this razor in serviceable shape, and will it need restoration to use.
IMO it is very usable as is from the pics provided. Robuso are nice shavers by the way.Stefan

Thanked: 0The tang is very hard to read but I think it's:
ROBUSO WERK
ROS BUNTENBACH
HOCHSCHEID-SOLINGEN
My German is non-existant so I have no idea if that even makes sense (except for Robuso and Solingen of course). Can anyone translate that?Last edited by kipsus; 10-11-2012 at 07:13 PM. Reason: fear of mods
