Default Needing some info about a razor

    Hello, Everyone

I just picked up a razor I don't know how old it is, It looks newer but I can't find anything like it online in my searches.

It's a Geo Wostenholm and Son (Full Hollow) with the word "Conquer" in gold on blade. I can Upload pics if needed

Always pics please. You need to show that thing off!!! We'd all love to see it and it will help the guys in identification.

    Hey There

Does it have "Wostenholm" or "Wostenholme" stamped on the tang? Is there any other writing?
    +1 on the pics

    Thanks

Welcome to SRP. Wostenholm was one of the premier Sheffield makers back in the day. I'm not sure when they got out of it but your razor is fairly old. Maybe pre WWII ? Maybe later. I think you are i the neck of the woods of Lynn Abrams, the founder of SRP and one of the premier razor honers in the world. If you aim to shave with that thing pay Lynn a visit, get it honed to shave ready, and get some tips from a master.

Yeah I'm in the process of making time to meet up with him to learn to hone better. Not that I can't put an edge on a razor I just want to get better and aim to be at his caliber of honing

Beautiful razor!! I just found a square point conqueror at a local antique shop. The finish on the blade isn't nearly as nice as yours but all the steel is present. I honed it up and found it to be a FANTASTIC shaver! It's my only English steel razor I have that's shave ready and it's a joy to use! If you're curious, go to my profile and see the pics of it in my albums!Good luck!
