Well you see I was looking on ebay to see what they were offering and I came across two different Satinedge Ducks. Which is why I started this thread. I saw one that says Pearlduck REG US PAT. OFF. on the back of the more plain scaled Duck. On the more fancy scaled Duck it says Pearlduck Solingen Germany. Would you guys mind giving me a little bit of a history lesson?

In the years prior to WWll Charles Bresnick started a barbers supply store in N.Y.C. He sold a wide variety of items and sold to the trade and had salesmen peddling his wares. His razors became well known and liked by barbers and through them they became known and liked by the general public. As time went on he settled on 2 ducks as his trademark and eventually changed the company name to Bresduck. After WWll Mr Pearlson acquired the company and changed the name to Pearlduck. The razors came to be known by their 2 duck logo. The outfit moved several times and continued to change ownership. It still exists today north of N.Y.C but sells dog grooming supplies only.

As to the razors, they sold both razors from known brands such as Puma and razors with only their name on them. The manufacturers of DD razors are mostly unknown. They did sell razors made in France, Germany and the U.S. In later years they developed an alliance with Beau Brummel and became exclusive distributors for that brand in the U.S.

Hows that for a quick history.

WOW! I'm impressed. All that and a smooth face too . . . That's why I love this forum, and my Dbl Ducks.

My satinedge is also different from the ones displayed. The inlay is near where the toe of the razor folds into the handle and is an inlay that reads 'dubl duck'. Mine also, from what people here have told me, is an old stock bresnick that was re-stamped as a pearlduck, so it has both sets of stamps from old and new manufacturer on it. Weird huh?

That is weird. I'm guessing that's quite a unique find.

There's a nice one, it must have been well taken care of.
