Thanked: 10NOS Razor Sources
Gentlemen,
Good evening. Dave reaching out here another odd question: Does anyone have any insight into where vendors acquire NOS razors? I know this calls for a bit of speculation... Having just spent the last hour or so surfing the web drooling over NOS razors, I've been wondering where all of these are coming from. Despite the relative abundance of them, it seems no single person has stockpiled them.
Anyways, just curious

Thanked: 116I've heard stories like 'my grandfather worked at henckels' and 'found these in a store room in a box' etc. As with anything, if they weren't sold or thrown out, they were put away. Now with the increase in razor sales, they're reappearing all over the place. It's a great thing for us that are passionate about the hobby, too bad the prices seem to have increased quicker than the age of the razors themselves!
Sooner or later, they will run out, especially at the rate people here, including myself, are procuring them.

Thanked: 56Hey There
I have come across a few on eBay that were poorly pictured. Some people's photography skills allow you to buy NOS razors at low prices, so keep your eyes open
Thanks

Remember that razors were produced by the zillions and when DEs came out the market dried up very rapidly. Most of those unsold razors went somewhere. I imagine probably sitting in folks basements and attics slowly rusting away unknown or forgotten by the resident. Many were probably converted to other tools.

A friend of mine was a barber in Kearny , NJ. He collected straight razors and other barber stuff. Some guys doing a renovation on a house in town found a 7 day set of Joseph Rodgers NOS in the box. It was stuck in between some rafters in the attic. They brought it over to the shop and gave it to my barber friend. People gave him stuff like that not infrequently.
For NOS razors currently, try the Revisor website. Thomas has a stash of vintage NOS that seems to be ongoing last time I looked.

Ohhhhhhh Yeah! He has a few!
I did not see any pricing. I suppose if you have to ask.........Just givem your card # and stand by the mailbox.
Either the card bill or the razor will arrive soon!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
