    Default Golden Spike??

I have an old friend who was telling me about a straight razor he had and may still have, he said it was called a Golden Spike. Other then that he knew nothing about it. Anyone ever come accross one of these and are the of any value at all or not? He said he would look arund for it and if he finds it I'll post some pics of it.

    Default Golden Spike??

I saw one this weekend at an antique show. Translucent green scales, gold railroad spike inlaid in the scales. It looked like when new the entire blade had gold wash. I passed it up because the guy was asking more than I was willing to pay. Very cool razor

Oh nice I will show my friend this pic and see what he says. PortlandJosh what was the price do you remember? He said he would give it to me if he found it, though I wouldn't sell it I would like to know what its worth. I knew someone on this forum would know something, I am so happy I joined you guys, a wealth of knowledge.

We don't do valuations on SRP and value is relative to the buyer anyway. I wouldn't pay what he asked but someone else may have. I don't believe the seller actually had any idea how to put a price on the razor in the first place. If you plan on keeping it, and it shaves great, then it's priceless

Opps sorry Im new and didnt know that values were not given. I agree that as long as it shaves nice then its a keeper. If he finds it I will prob have to keep it... seeings how selling a gift is sort of shameful. Thanks!
