Default First renovation French old razor, ID?

    Hi,

Can't figure out who made this razor, and how old it is...

Upper: TRE(M?) and I think there should be at least 1 letter after this, maybe also 1 before the "T"
    Under: (H?)P F(R?).......

    Who's got an answer?

    Thanks!

Could very well be "trempé" wich means tempered. And the lower is probably "Supérieure" wich means superior. I have seen this stamp on old french razors.
its definately an early french razor 1810-1820 ?

That's a great answer for a first reply!

    Thank you very much!
Do you by a chance have pictures of better preserved razors?

    Kind regards

Sorry, I can't help with the ID, but what a wonderful very old razor. It appears to be complete and original with bone scales. A real survivor.
Where did you come across this, if I might ask? What are your plans for it? Honing and shaving? Or a complete restoration?
(apologies for the off topic post)

Yes, I thought als it was bone and iron pins and washers?
I bought it in a lot of 8 at ebay, I've got still a lot of work on the others (witch will be showed because of more questions offcourse!)...
Chances are that I will hone and shave, because I think it will go easy ( during the restoration I already had a good edge)
But I will be carefull (hone with tape,...)
I already spend hours to remore the rust and the scars,
I think I'll keep it mostly like that, there is to mutch pitting, if I go for a complete restoration, I think I'm going tot destroy it's markings and more

    Regards
